The shutdown of TikTok for American users for around 14 hours had a twilight zone feel to it.

AT Protocol TikTok Alternatives

Even before Mark Cuban said he was ready to fund a TikTok alternative built on AT Protocol, developers were busy working on building it.

We've started tracking some of these apps, even though they aren't available yet, in a new coming soon area of the site:

Bluesky itself got into the action, making some updates in the official client to support custom feeds of vertical videos.

These changes enable anyone to build a custom feed for video, and all the developers building TikTok like alternatives to use these feeds. This should lead to a richer experience for users trying out these new apps.
